Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking in Ambedkar Nagar, stated that the recruitment process for government jobs has been reformed in the state. He claimed that under the previous Samajwadi Party government, government jobs were ‘auctioned,’ with a specific family heavily involved. He contrasted this with the current administration’s merit-based approach. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 194 development projects, valued at Rs 1,184 crore. In addition, Adityanath announced that 11,690 farmer families would benefit from the distribution of over Rs 500 crore under the ‘Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Bima Yojana,’ and that affected families will receive Rs 5 lakh each. This preceded Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s distribution of appointment letters to over 60,000 new Civil Police Constables in Lucknow, which highlighted the growth of the UP Police and improved law and order since 2017. The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 was held across 67 districts with the intention of filling over 60,000 positions.
