Progress in identifying the victims of the Air India plane crash continues, as DNA matching has been finalized for 87 individuals. Dr. Rajnish Patel, Additional Medical Superintendent of Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital, stated that there were 92 matches due to some duplication in the DNA samples. As a result, 47 bodies have been released to various districts, including Kheda, Ahmedabad, Kota, Mahesana, Bharuch, Vadodara, Aravalli, Anand, Junagarh, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Mahisagar. The tragic incident involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner en route to London, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on June 12, claiming the lives of 241 individuals, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. An expert from the UK inspected the crash site. The former Chief Minister will be cremated in Rajkot with full state honors. The Indian flag will be draped over his body, and a significant quantity of flowers will be used to adorn the hearse. Authorities are dedicated to treating the remaining bodies with dignity. The crash resulted in the loss of 241 lives from the 242 people on board; a single survivor is currently receiving medical care. The crash also resulted in the deaths of 33 others, including local residents and MBBS students, as the plane impacted a doctor’s hostel.
