Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held crucial meetings in New Delhi to discuss developmental projects and infrastructure improvements for Uttarakhand. With Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, he discussed the merger of the Ranikhet and Lansdowne Cantonment areas with municipalities to facilitate tourism and enhance public amenities. He also requested the use of military helipads in Dharchula and Joshimath for air services and a fee waiver for the Indian Air Force during disaster relief operations. Additionally, the Chief Minister proposed that the Public Works Department maintain the Tharali Dewal-Mundoli-Van motor road, essential for the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. The Defence Minister provided assurances of positive action on these matters. In earlier discussions, Dhami met with Union Minister Manohar Lal and requested assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), along with the development of hydroelectric projects. He sought the automation of power lines in the Rishikesh-Haridwar area and viability gap funds for hydroelectric and pump storage projects. He also requested approval for the Pitkul projects. Furthermore, Dhami addressed the current challenges of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and suggested revisions to the financial model for housing projects on private land, as well as advocating for the expansion of the RRTS to Haridwar.
