During a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, a passenger endured the entire flight trapped inside the airplane’s lavatory. The airline has since apologized to the passenger and offered a refund for the uncomfortable journey. The passenger was finally released after the flight landed in Bengaluru, with the assistance of ground staff and engineers who managed to open the malfunctioning door.
The incident occurred on a Monday night flight, which departed Mumbai with a two-hour delay. The passenger, in seat 14D, entered the lavatory shortly after takeoff and found themselves unable to exit due to a jammed door. Despite the crew’s efforts to unlock it, the door remained stuck.
As a means of comfort, the crew slid a handwritten note under the door, instructing the passenger to remain seated until the plane landed. The note’s image gained traction on social media, generating amusement among netizens. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, and the door was opened. SpiceJet has expressed its regret for the incident and offered an apology to the passenger.
