The Chhattisgarh government is inviting applications for the State Sports Decoration Awards for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25, announced by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The awards aim to recognize exceptional athletes, coaches, and referees at both state and national levels. The last date to submit applications is June 26, 2025.
The awards are dedicated to the state’s martyrs. The Shaheed Rajeev Pandey Award will carry a prize of Rs 3 lakh, and the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh Awards will each award Rs 1.5 lakh. The Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Award and Vinod Chaubey Samman will include an incentive of Rs 25,000.
The Chief Minister Trophy will provide prize money ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh for outstanding teams, based on team size. Selected athletes will also benefit from an Inspiration Fund and diet money, with a maximum age of 19 years for the latter. Coaches and referees will also be honored for their roles.
Application forms are available on the website http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in, and at the District Sports Office and State Sports Directorate, Raipur. All required certificates must be attached. Applications for the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman must include a recommendation from state sports associations. The selection will be based on sports associations’ recommendations, achievements, and set eligibility criteria.
Athletes, coaches, and referees must apply by June 26, 2025. Incomplete applications will be rejected, and the selection committee’s decision is final.
