The investigation into the Meghalaya honeymoon murder has taken a significant turn with the discovery of new suspects. An audio recording of an eyewitness’s call to Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, reveals further details about the plot. The eyewitness told Vipin Raghuvanshi that besides Raj Kushwaha, two other individuals helped bring Sonam from Varanasi to Ghazipur. The eyewitness reported seeing Sonam at the Varanasi bus stand, where she was calmly drinking mango juice. She was seen with two young men at the bus stand about two hours before her surrender in Ghazipur. These two individuals helped Sonam to board a bus going from Varanasi to Gorakhpur around 11:30 pm. A resident of Saidpur in Ghazipur informed Vipin Raghuvanshi about Sonam. Police in Uttar Pradesh confirmed the arrest of 24-year-old Sonam, who was found near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road. Following her arrest, Sonam was treated at Sadar Hospital before being transferred to Sakhi One Stop Centre, according to ADG Law and Order, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Yash. Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja’s body was later found in a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. They were married on May 11 and had gone for honeymoon on May 20. The couple was last seen on May 23, and their phone went switched off by the evening of the same day.
