They confessed that they were fed up with the repeated checks and decided to act.
The incident occurred on Wednesday on Patna’s Atal Path. The police were carrying out vehicle checks when they signaled a Scorpio car to halt. However, the driver instead drove into three police officers. The officers involved, including SI Deepak Mani, ASI Avdhesh Kumar, and Constable Komal from the SK Puri police station, sustained serious injuries.
The injured officers were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, Constable Komal was pronounced dead at the hospital. Upon learning of the incident, Patna SSP Avakash Kumar quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the two suspects, identified as property dealers Nikhil, Ankit, and Kuldeep. A fourth suspect, Raja, remains at large. Nikhil and Ankit were arrested immediately after the incident.
Kuldeep was apprehended the following day. The Scorpio was driven by property dealer Nikhil, who also owns the vehicle.
