The East Singhbhum district has commenced a special state-wide awareness campaign against prohibited substances, as mandated by the state government. The campaign was launched at the Collectorate premises. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, initiated the campaign by flagging off an awareness chariot. This chariot is designed to spread the message of freedom from addiction across the district. It will travel to various blocks within the district, educating people about the harmful effects of drugs. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath of abstinence to all officers and staff present. He stated that drug addiction affects not just the health of an individual but also their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical problems. The Deputy Commissioner encouraged all sections of society to participate in the campaign to create a drug-free community. He urged the public to actively engage in the campaign and educate those around them about the dangers of drug use. The district administration aims to disseminate the message of freedom from addiction and to inspire everyone to avoid the harmful effects of drugs through this campaign. The special campaign will take place from June 10 to June 26, 2025, during which various awareness programs will be held to educate the public about the adverse effects of drug addiction.
