Health Minister Mangal Pandey announced a major recruitment drive to fill 1800 assistant professor positions in medical colleges across Bihar. The recruitment process is expected to commence within the next few months. The announcement was made during a distribution event where 694 newly appointed senior medical officers and medical officers received their appointment letters at the Urja Auditorium. This initiative also aims to provide government doctors with the opportunity to be posted at locations of their choice. The Bihar government recently distributed appointment letters to nearly 1400 doctors, setting a new record. Key officials including Pratyay Amrit, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, and others were present. The state is also actively recruiting Ayush doctors, and the appointment of 7468 ANM nurses has been completed. The government is planning to appoint 4500 CHOs in the coming months. The Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He highlighted that medical professionals should commit to serving patients with dedication, discipline and empathy. Pratyay Amrit, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, welcomed the newly appointed doctors and emphasized the importance of compassionate patient care, while also referencing a recent unfortunate incident at PMCH. He also appreciated the progress in healthcare infrastructure in Bihar and congratulated the Health Minister on his long tenure.
