A SpiceJet flyer on a Mumbai to Bengaluru flight faced a rather unique travel experience when they were stuck in the airplane lavatory throughout the journey. The airline has apologized and is said to have offered a refund. The incident has been widely shared and discussed online.
The incident happened on a flight that took off at 2:10 AM, delayed from its original departure time of 10:55 PM. The passenger, in seat 14D, entered the restroom shortly after takeoff. The door jammed, trapping the passenger inside. The crew attempted to assist, but were unable to open the door.
To ease the passenger’s distress, the crew sent a handwritten note under the door. The note asked the passenger to stay calm and remain on the toilet seat until landing in Bengaluru. After the flight landed at around 3:45 AM, ground staff were able to open the door. Social media users found the situation and the crew’s note amusing, with many sharing the images. SpiceJet has publicly expressed its regrets for the passenger’s ordeal.
