An IED explosion in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, planted by Naxals, claimed the life of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injured numerous other police officers. The blast happened near Dondra village. The Additional Superintendent of Police (Konta Division), ASP Giripunje, sustained critical injuries and died during treatment at Konta Hospital. The police were conducting a patrol due to a bandh called by the Naxals. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra expressed his condolences. The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the state, with Naxals continuing to launch attacks against security forces. The government has increased operations against the naxals and is committed to eradicating Naxalism.
