A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had an unfortunate experience as they were stuck inside the aircraft’s lavatory for the duration of the journey. The airline has expressed remorse and offered compensation for the incident, which has captivated the public’s attention.
The passenger was eventually rescued after the plane landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers were able to open the toilet door, which had malfunctioned mid-flight.
The incident occurred on Monday night, on a flight that was delayed by two hours. A passenger who had entered the restroom shortly after takeoff found themselves unable to leave due to a faulty door lock.
Unable to open the door, the crew slipped a note under the door, asking the passenger to ‘not panic’ and remain on the toilet until arrival.
The note’s image spread quickly on the internet. The situation was perceived as humorous by many, with the quality of the handwriting also being a talking point.
