In Vaishali district of Bihar, an accident occurred on Saturday morning involving the convoy of RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. The incident took place near Goraul as Yadav was traveling back to Patna from Madhepura following a political rally.
The convoy had stopped on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at approximately 12:30 AM for a short tea break. While Tejashwi Yadav was a few meters away, the truck collided with the vehicles of his security personnel. Fortunately, Yadav’s personal vehicle was not impacted, and he escaped without injury.
However, three security officials were injured in the crash and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Reports indicate that Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured officials to check on their condition, and they are currently stable, though they suffered bruises and minor fractures.
The local police arrested the truck driver on the spot and seized the vehicle. An investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident, with potential factors including speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has brought to the forefront the issue of safety for political figures traveling long distances on Bihar roads, especially late at night.
Following the accident, RJD members and supporters expressed their relief on social media and called for enhanced road safety and stricter enforcement of traffic rules. Party officials have requested a comprehensive review of security protocols for VIP convoys on the road, particularly in situations with poor visibility and concerning road conditions.
Tejashwi Yadav, who is known for his active involvement in politics and extensive travel, has resumed his routine and has assured his followers of his safety.
