A SpiceJet passenger faced an unusual travel experience on a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru when they were stuck in the airplane’s lavatory for the duration of the journey. A faulty door lock prevented the passenger from exiting. The airline expressed regret for the incident and has offered compensation to the affected passenger. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight was delayed, eventually departing at 2:10 AM. Shortly after takeoff, the passenger, seated in 14D, found themselves unable to open the restroom door. Crew members attempted to fix the problem but were unsuccessful. In response, the crew passed a handwritten note to the passenger, advising them to remain in the restroom until the flight landed in Bengaluru. The flight landed at approximately 3:45 AM, with ground staff opening the door. The incident has since circulated widely on social media, with many netizens sharing their amusement.
