Following observed lapses in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Pendra administration has taken strong action. Secretary Rajkumar Sharma of Tendumuda Gram Panchayat has been suspended due to negligence and lack of attention to duties. A show cause notice has been issued to Jyoti Kashyap, the employment assistant of the same panchayat. The secretary of Thadpathra Gram Panchayat has also been ordered to be transferred immediately. These measures were taken under the guidance of Zilla Panchayat CEO Surendra Prasad Vaidh. Vaidh has made it abundantly clear that negligence in government schemes will not be tolerated. He has warned all panchayat employees that strict action will be taken against those who obstruct the PM Awas Yojana. The administration’s stern measures have prompted a reaction within the panchayats, which have received instructions to ensure schemes are implemented in a timely and transparent manner.
