A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru had an unpleasant experience after getting locked in the aircraft’s toilet for the entire flight. The airline apologized and reportedly offered a refund to the affected passenger. The situation has prompted considerable reaction on social media.
The passenger’s ordeal ended when the flight landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers opened the malfunctioning toilet door.
The event occurred on Monday night. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight was delayed by two hours, departing from Mumbai at 2:10 AM instead of the scheduled time of 10:55 PM. A passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom shortly after takeoff and found themselves unable to exit as the door lock had failed. Despite efforts, the crew was unable to open the door.
To offer some solace, the crew passed a handwritten note to the passenger, asking them to stay seated on the toilet seat until the flight landed in Bengaluru. The note quickly spread across social media, with many users finding it humorous. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. An airport engineer was able to open the door after landing. SpiceJet issued an apology for the incident.
