Following a public dispute, Elon Musk deleted a tweet concerning Donald Trump and the Epstein files. The situation escalated after Musk suggested that Trump’s name within the files could be the reason for their secrecy. Musk had recently left his position as a special government employee with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The core of their disagreement appears to be Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’.
Musk’s deleted tweet read: “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk subsequently signaled a possible truce.
Responding to a post by American Fund Manager Bill Ackman, who called for peace between the two, Musk replied, “ You’s are not wrong.”
The public conflict occurred at a time when Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’, encompassing tax cuts and military spending, is under debate. The two personalities used social media to exchange sharp criticisms, with Musk making serious allegations regarding Trump’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein. This occurred soon after Musk’s departure from his government role.
US Vice President JD Vance showed his support for President Trump, stating on X, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
