A tweet by Elon Musk, which implicated Donald Trump in the Epstein files, was deleted following an online dispute between the two prominent figures. The disagreement arose after Musk claimed that Trump’s involvement was the reason for the files’ delayed release.
Musk’s decision to step down from his position within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) preceded the public feud, with his focus shifting towards his businesses. The clash appeared to be sparked by Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill,’ leading to the online confrontation.
Musk’s now-removed tweet on X read: “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” After removing the tweet, Musk hinted at a possible reconciliation, responding to a call for peace from fund manager Bill Ackman, with the statement, “ You’s are not wrong.”
The online argument unfolded as Trump was promoting his ‘big, beautiful bill,’ which encompassed substantial tax cuts and increased military expenditures. The social media clash involved sharp criticisms and accusations from both sides, reaching a peak with Musk’s allegations linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein. The discord occurred shortly after Musk’s departure from his government role.
Amidst the public spat, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance expressed his backing for Trump, stating, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
