Amit Shah, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, met with officials in New Delhi to honor their contributions to the recent anti-Naxal operations, congratulating them on the historic success. He reinforced the Modi government’s dedication to eradicating Naxalism in India. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present during the meeting.
In a social media post, the Home Minister commended the officers for their vital roles in the operations and expressed his desire to meet the brave soldiers. He also announced that he would soon visit Chhattisgarh to interact with them. These operations were conducted under the guidance of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. The Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur, conducted an operation in the remote areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21, 2025. On May 21, 2025, an encounter in the forests of village Boter resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including the CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Baswaraju, also known as Gaganna. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered. Amit Shah honored Chhattisgarh’s DGP Arun Dev Gautam, ADG Vivekananda, IG Sundarraj, SP Prabhat Kumar, SP Jitendra Yadav, and SP Shalabh Singh. The event was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, IB Director Tapan Deka, and other senior officials.
