Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to recommend a CBI probe into the case of an Indore couple, Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam, who went missing in Shillong, Meghalaya. Raja was later found dead, while Sonam remains missing. The Chief Minister stated that the state government is supporting the family. He has discussed the matter with the Meghalaya Chief Minister, and Madhya Pradesh police officials are in constant contact with their counterparts in Meghalaya. Yadav has requested Amit Shah to order a CBI inquiry to ensure the safe return of Sonam Raghuvanshi. The family had previously written to the Prime Minister requesting a CBI investigation. The couple, who were on their honeymoon, were last seen on May 23. Raja’s remains were recovered from a gorge near Cherrapunji on June 2. Sonam is still missing. Vipul Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, stated that the family has requested a CBI investigation. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has expressed his condolences and assured that all necessary steps would be taken.
