From June 9 to 15, the Department of Surgery at RIMS, Ranchi, will be organizing National Surgeon Week. The week is planned to include various activities, encompassing health awareness programs, blood donation camps, tree planting initiatives, a walkathon, recognition ceremonies for doctors, and educational events. Dr. D.K. Sinha, the head of the surgery department, shared the details of the upcoming week at a press conference. The key objectives are to enhance public health awareness and to recognize the valuable contributions of surgeons. Numerous senior doctors from Ranchi and Jharkhand participated, including Prof. V.K. Jain, Dr. N.K. Jha, Dr. Sheetal Malua, Dr. R.R. Sinha, Dr. Pankaj Bodra, and Dr. Satish Midha. Junior doctors such as Dr. Arnav, Dr. Nalini, Dr. Shabnam and Dr. Pralay, were also present. Daily events include a walkathon and street play on June 9, a workshop in collaboration with the radiology department on June 10, a blood donation camp on June 11, honoring senior doctors on June 12, a tree planting drive and health check-ups on June 13, a quiz competition for PG students on June 14, and the National Surgeon Day celebration and closing ceremony on June 15.
