Odisha to arrange separate paediatric wing at COVID hospitals

BHUBANESWAR: In wake of a potential third wave of Covid-19 pandemic that will have an effect on kids, the State authorities is ready to create separate wings for paediatric instances within the present Covid hospitals. The determination comes following the advice of the technical committee headed by DMET.
All collectors, municipal commissioners, superintendent of MCHs and CDMOs have been requested to make advance preparations together with reservation of 15 per cent ICU beds.
Of round 10,736 common beds and 4,072 ICU/HDU beds within the present Covid hospitals, 1,610 common and 610 ICU/HDU beds can be saved prepared for youngsters.
Considering a day by day caseload of round 10,000 through the subsequent wave, the Health division has projected the requirement of common beds to be 2,850 and requested officers to make preparations.
