US man strangles girlfriend, dies of coronary heart assault whereas burying her physique in yard

An American man who strangled his girlfriend died of a coronary heart assault whereas burying her physique in his yard, police mentioned.

South Carolina’s Edgefield County police discovered 60-year-old Joseph McKinnon unresponsive within the yard of his house in Trenton city on Saturday. While investigating his dying, a second physique was discovered buried in a freshly dug pit. This was the corpse of his live-in companion Patricia Dent, 65.

Police mentioned Dent had “died by foul play”. After gathering proof and witness testimonies, a timeline of the crime was constructed, which led investigators to consider that McKinnon attacked and strangled Dent of their house.

He then dug a trench within the yard, wrapped Dent’s physique in plastic trash luggage and tossed it within the pit. While masking the pit, McKinnon had a “cardiac event”, inflicting his dying, police mentioned. Autopsy revealed he confirmed no indicators of trauma and had died of pure causes.

Authorities mentioned they determined to examine the freshly crammed pit within the backyard after they had been contacted by Patricia Dent’s twin sister, Pamela Briggs, who mentioned she was not responding to calls and texts. A co-worker had known as Briggs after Dent failed to show up for work.

A anxious Briggs dialled 911 and instructed cops about her sister, who had seemingly vanished. Police then dug up the pit in McKinnon’s yard and located Dent’s sure and wrapped physique in it.

Briggs mentioned she was devastated by the lack of her twin sister. “I didn’t see any of that coming. Everybody who ever met her liked her. She was just full of energy… a big part of me is gone, and now I’m going to have to live with that,” she instructed reporters.
