Kochi, Sep 21: The ongoing ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ by the Congress on Wednesday sparked a row when the image of freedom fighter V.D.
Savarkar first appeared in an enormous poster which contained the photographs of a number of freedom fighters welcoming Congress chief Rahul Gandhi-led yatra close to Aluva in Kochi in Kerala.
This incident has angered the anti-Congress camp, particularly led by the CPI-M and created a furore on the social media, slamming the Congress.
Realising the traction that this information was getting on the social media after which the Congress was criticised, the celebration acted swiftly and displayed the image of Mahatma Gandhi above that of Savarkar.
Incidentally, this poster appeared within the Assembly constituency of Congress legislator Anwar Sadath however the rationalization that was given by the native leaders, who have been entrusted with the job of placing this poster was that that they had requested an area printer to neatly place the photographs of distinguished freedom fighters within the nation.
Once it was printed, the native management put it up which landed them in hassle.
